In 1999 she received second prize from the Prague art schools contest, whereafter followed a string of further competition successes: first prize from the regional art schools contest in the chamber singing category, plus an honourable mention in the competition’s national round, and another honourable mention from the Czech Musical Youth’s Dušek Competition (2000); laureateship from the Žďár nad Sázavou International Singing Competition, and second prize from the International Singing Competition “Ad honorem Mozart” (2008); first prize from the same competition “Ad honorem Mozart” and laureateship from the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary (2009). In 2001 she took up private lessons with Jaroslava Janská (Janáček Academy in Brno). In 2002 she was admitted for studies at the Prague Conservatory (Antonie Denygrová, from 2006 Yvonna Škvárová), which she successfully completed in June 2008. While still a student there, she frequented master classes in singing with Peter Dvorský and Magdalena Blahušiaková in Karlovy Vary.

In June 2007 she was cast as Susanna in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, in a production involving fresh graduates from the Prague Conservatory. Since 2007 she has been guest artist of the Prague State Opera, appearing in its productions of Verdi’s Rigoletto, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Massenet’s Don Quichotte. Since 2008 she has likewise guest appeared at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň (in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Janáček’s Jenůfa, Smetana’s Two Widows, and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte), and the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec (in Lehár’s Das Land des Lächelns, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana, and Bizet’s Carmen). In July 2009 she sang the first wood sprite in a co-production with the Southern Bohemia Theatre of České Budějovice of Dvořák’s Rusalka, at the International Music Festival in Český Krumlov, under the baton of Antonello Allemandi. Equally active on the concert platform, Věra Likérová has worked with the Wihan and Pražák Quartets (Smetana Festival in Litomyšl, 2005), the Kaprálová Quartet, and the harpist Kateřina Englichová.

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
