Demi-soloist
Mr Kašparovský studied at the Prague Dance Conservatory in 1994–2002, taking a traineeship at the Palluca Schule in Dresden in 2000. He came fourth at the Eurovision Young Dancers Contest in the UK, and in 2004 he was one of the nominees for the Thalia Award, a prestigious Czech theatre accolade, for Normano in Psycho by Czech choreographer Libor Vaculík. In 2002–2009, Mr Kašparovský was a member of the ballet company in Plzeň, West Czech Republic, performing a number of remarkable roles of classical and modern repertory, such as the Moor and Spanish Dance in the Nutcracker, Hungarian and Spanish Dance in the Swan Lake, Macbeth, Théo Sarapo and Marcel Cerdan in ballet-musical Edith devoted to Edith Piaf, solo performance in the Walpurgis Night in Faust, the Dream Doubler in Little Mr Friedemann, Norman in Psycho, First Cabaret Performer in Some Like it Hot, the Vizier and the Troll King in Peer Gynt, Francek in Maryša, a ballet version of a famous Czech village drama. Starting from the 2009/10 season, Mr Kašparovský is a member of the Prague State Opera.
