After studying at the High School of Decorative Arts (in the department of Toy and Puppet Design), she completed her studies in stage design and theater anthropology at DAMU in Prague. In the years 1993–1994 she studied in London. She has worked in the Children’s Theater Studio of the Švandovo Theater as a teacher and during her student years worked as a stage designer with DISK Theater and the Cheb Theater Festival. Since 1999 she has designed for the Theater of East Bohemia in Pardubice, the Horácké Theater in Jihlava, Theater Příbram, Řetízek Studio, the Theater of Central Bohemia in Kladno, the Moravian Theater in Olomouc, the Žižkov Theater and the Rehearsal Room of the Vinohrady Theater. Kristina Matre Křížová has worked here not only as a gifted costume technician, but also as the stage designer for plays of both the classical and modern repertoire. Her Shakespeare productions include Hamlet, Much Ado About Nothing, As You Like It, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As a stage designer and costume technician she has worked with several directors, notably Karel Kříž, Jana Uherová, Otakar Kosek, Štěpán Chaloupka, Petr Svojtka and repeatedly with Ksénija Krčar.
