Prague Ballet Gala

The Prague International Ballet presents the fifth Prague Ballet Gala, which will take place at the Prague State Opera on January 7 and January 8, 2011. This event brings together famous artists from some of the most prestigious ballet companies and theatres. Just see for yourself: Bolshoi Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Dutch National Ballet and many others. This performances shows you the many different faces of the classical style, and also introduces you to exciting contemporary works.

The mission of the Prague Ballet Gala is to introduce principal dancers from different countries in performance in Prague, the Czech Republic; and to present the best contemporary ballet creations, as well as special ballet works by distinguished choreographers of past centuries.

The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates

The Prague State Opera in cooperation with the Slovart publishing house publishes a representative book tracking the history of this significant cultural institution since its opening in 1888 till the end of the 2002/2003 season. The publication called The Prague State Opera – Theatre History in Pictures and Dates is focusing solely on the opera featured at the scene, even though the theatre under various names also served to presentation of drama plays, operettas and ballet. The Prague State opera plans to publish the volumes concentrating on those genres in the next years.
