Dear Parents, Dear Young Visitors,

It is a great pleasure for us to know you have decided to pay a visit to this fine theatre. To make your stay here as enjoyable as possible, we have prepared for you several useful pieces of information in the form of questions and answers. In case you don't find the answer you are looking for here, please do not hesitate to contact us at .

Which productions will most likely attract children's attention?

The Prague State Opera has been doing its utmost to offer to all categories of its audience a variety of truly accessible opera and ballet productions. Therefore, our repertoire does not consist solely of productions intended for erudite viewers and listeners; rather our programme aims at addressing the widest circle of the music-loving public.

Our junior and children's audience will draw unforgettable experiences from the PSO's productions of the operas, Carmen, The Magic Flute, The Barber of Seville, Rusalka, and Turandot, and in our offer of ballet productions, most notably from Cinderella and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Where can one get refreshments?

Before the start of performance, during intermissions, and shortly after the show's ending, soft drinks and both sweet and salty delicacies are available in the Angelo Neumann Lounge, adjacent to the dress-circle vestibule.

Which sections of the auditorium are most suitable for children?

Generally speaking, of course the best places for children are those from which they have an unobstructed view of the stage and which can at the same time be left at any time and without difficulty. Therefore, when buying tickets you are advised to ask for seats at the ends of the individual rows in the stalls section, and/or in the first two rows of the dress circle, as well as in the dress-circle boxes (for opera performances), and upper circle (ballet performances). For your information, we have indicated these places in the enclosed auditorium plan.

Can one obtain children's tickets at a reduced price?

Definitely so. Up to 80 percent cuts on admission are offered as part of the subscription series package. Tickets for the PSO's series entitled Theatre for Children, encompassing select productions of each season, can be booked always from March through May. Tickets for a special Christmas offer comprised of two performances of the current season, entitled Opera for Children, are available approximately from the mid-November through mid-December. Detailed information about subscription is available in the Subscription section.
